How Panic Button Can Help You Hide Multiple Tabs in Google Chrome Quickly and Easily

If you want to hide all tans, why not just hiding the whole browser? Or use online storage, Only the one with your account name and password can see the tabs you opened or ever opened. These just the basic funtions,as I know, Avant browser, maxthon, firefox all have these features.

The extension saves all the open tabs as a bookmark in a temporary folder and closes them instantly. The PanicButton icon will turn green keeping the count of the number of tabs you have closed using the button.

Hide Multiple Tabs in Google Chrome instantly with Panic Button

Click it and all of your time-wasting tabs will disappear. In their place is a blank page, or the work-related URL of your choice. Simple. Don't worry, though. Your precious kitten videos aren't gone. That would be terrible. No, your beloved distractions are merely hidden. Click the panic button again and they will return to you, just as adorable as ever.

You can even set a safe page to automatically visit when you panic. This is pretty much everything you need and more. Whether you want to use a keyboard combination to hide your tabs or open a set of tabs, this app can do it.

So, this is how you can quickly hide and save tabs in your Google Chrome web browser. I hope this article helped you! Please share it with your friends also. If you have any doubts about this, let us know in the comment box below.

However, teachers can check for signs that panic buttons are in play. On Google Chrome, the panic button shows up as a red exclamation icon to the right of the search bar. Once activated, the panic button icon turns green. On Safari, the panic button appears as an exclamation point icon to the left of the search bar. Also, monitoring software programs like LearnSafe come with an editable database of terms. Schools and districts can add search terms related to panic button extensions. Therefore, the software will flag and screenshot searches. This gives administrators and teachers the data they need for educated conversations about digital citizenship and work habits.

Once it's installed, you can hide, restore, and even password-protect your tabs to make sure no one sees anything you don't want them to. When your tabs are hidden, the button turns green and an icon appears that shows how many are open, but you can disable that feature if you don't want it to give you away. You can also use a custom keyboard shortcut (and your ninja reflexes) to hide your tabs even quicker.

For Firefox users, there are two different add-ons with similar functionality. The first is also called Panic Button, although it's made by a different developer, and it does pretty much the same thing as the one above minus the password protection feature. It gives you the option to hide or minimize your tabs, or just quit Firefox altogether.

The panic button will immediately hide all your tabs from the browser window and open a new tab. Click the button again to get your tabs back. On restoring, tabs will reload. It means you must save all your data before hiding your tabs.

If you want to hide the tabs as well as the entire address bar from your Chrome browser, you can use the F11 button on your keyboard that will convert your desktop screen to a full-screen view. This will hide all your tabs and address bar from the toolbar menu.

So if you want to hide the URLs and websites from people around you, just hit the F11 button to get into the full-screen mode. Users can view the tabs without closing the full-screen view. Just hover your mouse on the address bar to view your open tabs. To go back to the normal view, click the F11 button again.

Depending on the URL of the website in question, perhaps the go button could replace the content on the screen with a fake news website? Use a simple hide/show javascript command to hide all divs on screen and show a pre built fake news layout (stored in a hidden div)

I used a very similar technique on a website that was for the same purpose, but I added a transition page with a javascript redirect so when the user pressed the back button, it was automatically returned to google once again.

Reading all the answers i havent seen one suggesting using the mouse right click. I think it could be a cool solution to this cause, while reading, the user should be having his/her hand on the mouse at all time. Another cool solution could be like two big vertical bars at the sides of the page which would cause the Emergency Exit on a mouse over, so if the user wants to hide the page just mouse over the divs with the mouse (which should also be a very intuitive motion for a user that doesnt know about key shortcuts and wants to hit the exit button of the browser really quickly.Great discussion and great solutions as well :)Julián

The main problem with going to other websites by clicking or pressing a button or using AJAX to dynamically load content is that the process may take a long time. Specially if you are downloading stuff or are using a modem (some people in the rural areas have no other choice).I think the best way is; to enable private browsing and attach an event to the escape key to dynamically change the whole page with CSS and jQuery only (hiding/removing elements and showing other elements). showing a bogus recipe page would be nice. The user can press the escape key repeatedly to act as if they are frustrated why the page is not loading properly. The first press of the escape key will alter the page instantly and the subsequent presses will do nothing. If we set a cookie that expires, we can prevent the reloading of the original page when page refresh is clicked.Would that work?

This way a person can immediately show the new page without an added request when in a dangerous situation. The only vulnerability is if they use the reload button, it would show the un-panicked page.

  • To see only the tab names without commands like in the screenshot below, use any of the following techniques:Ribbon shortcut. The fastest way to hide Excel ribbon is to press Ctrl + F1.

  • Double-click a tab. The ribbon can also be collapsed by double-clicking an active tab.

  • Arrow button. Another quick way to hide the ribbon in Excel is to click the up arrow in the lower-right corner of the ribbon.

  • Pop-up menu. In Excel 2013, 2016, and 2019, right-click anywhere on the ribbon and select Collapse the Ribbon from the context menu. In Excel 2010 and 2007, this option is called Minimize the Ribbon.

  • Ribbon Display Options. Click the Ribbon Display Options icon at the top-right corner and choose Show Tabs.

Hide ribbon completelyIf you aim to have the largest amount of screen space for a workbook area, use the Auto-hide option to get Excel in kind of full screen mode:

Android users have a similar feature with Chrome. Long-press on a link you might find on a web page and choose Open in new tab in group from the pop-up menu to create a group. You will see a menu bar at the bottom of the page that shows open tabs. Tap the plus (+) icon to open a new tab within the group. Tap the arrow button to view and reorganize all tabs in the group.

Chrome also lets you search for open tabs so you can quickly jump to the web page you need. Do this by searching the title of an open tab within the omnibox. When you type the title in, Chrome will autocomplete results and show recently used tabs that match the query. Click Switch to this tab button under the right result to be whisked away to the tab.
